Show 1289 Monday 30 August
Hi, I’m Sarah, welcome to The Daily English Show.
I hope you had an excellent weekend. I had a good weekend, I went for a walk on the motorway on Saturday. If you follow me on twitter, you might have seen this photo that I posted of me standing on the motorway.
While we were there, we interviewed some people for Question Time, which was fun, I’ve never interviewed people while standing in the middle of a motorway before. So that’s coming up on Thursday’s show.
And another thing to look forward to is the guest we’re having on next Monday’s show.
We’re having a guest from Kenya.
STICK NEWS
Kia ora in Stick News today a 15-year-old girl swallowed a toothbrush.
A girl in Auckland, New Zealand was brushing her teeth while running up the stairs when she tripped and fell, pushing the toothbrush down into her mouth.
The NZ Herald reported her younger brother tried to help stop her from choking but a gag reflex caused her to swallow the toothbrush whole before it could be pulled out.
The girl was taken to hospital where she was put under general anesthetic. Doctors grasped the bristle end of the toothbrush using a snare and pulled it back out through her mouth.
And that was Stick News for Monday the 30th of August.
