Sunday Kitchen #53 How to make soymilk


To make soymilk, first you need to soak soybeans overnight.
Then put some beans in a blender.
Put enough water into the blender to cover the beans.
Blend.
Hmm, maybe if needs a bit more water.
When it's blended enough, pour it into a big pot.
Repeat until all the beans are blended.
Then cook the beans in the big pot.
Bring it to the boil, and then cook it for about twenty minutes.
As it's cooking, scrape off the foam.
When it's finished cooking, put some cheese cloth over a pot and pour the beans through the cloth.
Hmm, two clips don't seem to be enough. Oops. That's better.
Take the clips off.
Squeeze out all the soymilk.
This stuff is called okara put it into a container so you can use it later.
Pour the milk into jars.
You might want to use a funnel.
Leave it to cool down, and then put it in the fridge.
