STICK NEWS

Kia Ora. In Stick News today, a man in Canada turned a paper clip into a house. He did it by trading online.

One year ago, this 26-year-old man was the proud owner of a red paper clip. But what he really wanted, was a house.
So, he traded the paper clip online.
14 trades later, he got house and he was happy.
But, there was something missing in his life.
So, a 12-foot red paper clip was built in the front yard. And the local town also plans to build the world’s largest red paper clip.

Red paper clips are now in hot demand all over the world. This morning Asahi Shinbun reported that Japan’s leading red paper clip manufacturer 株式会社赤いペーパークリップ(kabushiki geisha akai pepa kuripu / Red paper clip Co. Ltd) has sold out of red paper clips.
And that was Stick News for Friday the 14th July.
Kia Ora.

Step 1: Repeat Kate’s lines.
Step 2: Read Kate’s lines on the screen and talk to Sarah.

Sarah Did you hear about the guy who changed a red paper clip into a house?

Kate Yeah. Wish I'd have thought of that.

Sarah Yeah. It was a good idea. Might try it myself.

Kate With a paper clip?

Sarah Nah, that’s already been done. Something different.

Kate Like what?

Sarah Like ... a stapler.

Kate OooooK.

Sarah Mmm, yeah. Red paper clip. Blue stapler. Why not?

Kate Good luck.
