Today we’re studying a song called Black Box by Stan Walker.

Stan is singing about a failed relationship using the metaphor of a plane crashing into the ocean.
This is the first verse.

Do you know what a black box is? It’s a kind of recording device. Wikipedia says:
It records the conversation (I said conversations accidentally) of the pilots during a flight, so if something goes very wrong, investigators can use the black box recording to determine what happened.

And Stan Walker sings:

So, basically their relationship has failed and his ex is saying that it was his fault, but he doesn’t think it is … and he thinks that the truth about what happened will eventually come out, like it does when they find the black box after a plane crash.
