Show 1136 Wednesday 13 January
On the 2nd of January we went to an event called the Great Barrier Island New Year's Picnic Day.
It's two dollars each.
It was held at Horseshoe Paddock at Kaitoke Beach.
People were selling pottery, garlic, earings, second hand books, peg families, solar water heaters and windmills.
Some kids were having a lot of fun on a water slide.
And there were also races for kids.
Run through here, fast!
Well done! You won!
Kia tūpato! Haere! Haere! Haere!
(Be careful! Go! Go! Go!)
The next day, there was another picnic.
The Teddy Bears and Faries Picnic.
Winnie-the-Pooh greeted us at the gate.
Hello. Welcome. Hello. Welcome.
Inside was an amazing garden, with Peter Rabbit, The Owl and the Pussycat, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and dress ups!
I had fun playing with a hula hoop.
And I blew a few bubbles.
notes
Maybe a better translation for Kia tūpato! would be "look out!" or "watch out!". I'm not sure.
