Show 1175 Sunday 21 February
Sunday Kitchen #155 Pancakes
It was Shrove Tuesday on the 16th, so I thought, “What a great excuse to eat some pancakes.”
I put half a cup of soymilk in a blender with half a cup of flour and a teaspoon of baking powder, a teaspoon of sugar and a bit of salt.
I mixed it in the blender because I thought it would be easer to mix … I don’t know if this is a good idea or not.
Anyway, it clearly needed more liquid, so I added half a cup of water.
I poured some mixture on to a frying pan and cooked it until it seemed like it was time to turn over.
I cooked it for a bit on the other side, then I put it on a plate and melted a piece of chocolate on top.
Then I rolled it up and sliced it like makizushi.
I put the pieces on a plate, with a scoop of ice cream and a strawberry.
Then I put a grater over everything and grated a piece of chocolate on top.
I wasn’t too keen on the square shape, so I broke it up a bit.
Lovely.
I thought they came out pretty well, although I don’t think using wholemeal flour was such a great idea.
notes
wholemeal flour is called whole wheat flour in North America
