STICK NEWS

Kia Ora, this is Stick News. In Tokyo, police have arrested a printing employee. He is suspected of stealing stamps.

This man works at a printing factory. He was in charge of destroying some revenue stamps that were printed on a trial.
But instead of throwing the stamps away – he stole them.
He then sold them at ticket shops.
Police say that between April 2002 and March 2006 he stole 10 million yen worth of stamps.

And that was Stick News for Friday the 28th of July.
Kia Ora.

# 77 Why does that annoy you?

Sarah is rambling on to her friend Dave about what annoys her.
Step 1: Repeat Dave’s lines.
Step 2: Read Dave’s lines on the screen and talk to Sarah.

Sarah You know what really annoys me ...

Dave What?

Sarah When people use google as a verb.

Dave Oh. Why does that annoy you?

Sarah I don’t know. It just does.

Dave What would you say instead?

Sarah “Look it up on the net.”

Dave “Look it up on the net” – that has 6 syllables. “Google it” only has three.

Sarah So?

Dave Google it, google it, google it, google it, google it.

Sarah Shut up.
