STICK NEWS

Kia Ora. In Stick News Japan has exited the World Cup after they lost to Brazil today.

This morning Japan still had a chance of making the second round of the World Cup. All they needed to do was beat Brazil by at least 2 points. And hope Australia lost.
Despite Tamada’s nice goal in the 34th minute, Brazil ended up destroying Japan’s hopes by getting 4 goals past legendary Japanese goalkeeper Kawaguchi.
After the game Nakata lay on the field with a towel over his face and cried.
Japan’s coach Zico said he gave coaching the team his “best shot”.

And that was Stick News for Friday the 23rd of June.

Step 1: Repeat Naoko’s lines.
Step 2: Read Naoko’s lines on the screen and talk to Sarah.

Sarah Did you watch the game this morning?

Naoko I only saw the highlights on the news. Did you get up to watch it?

Sarah Yeah, I did. It’s the first time I’ve ever got up early in the morning to watch a game, actually.

Naoko You must be tired.

Sarah Yeah, kind of. But I went back to sleep after the game, so not really.

Naoko It’s a pity they lost. But Tamada did well to score that goal.

Sarah Yeah, Yeah. And Kawaguchi did some great saves. He’s a legend.
